Bloodrose by Andrea Cremer

As some of you know, if you've been reading my blog posts, that I read a lot of teen fiction to stay in tune with the market.  And one of my favorite reads has been Andrea Cremer's Nightshade trilogy.

When Bloodrose was released, the final installment in the trilogy, I was so anxious to read it.  Problem was, my library hadn't received it yet and my local Walmart didn't carry it yet.  I was stuck!

But as luck would have it, my library ordered the book and I snagged a copy.  In and amongst my own writing, I finished Bloodrose.  Here's my view:

I'd heard several people say that they were happy with the book because Andrea wasn't afraid to kill off main characters.  That to me makes a good author!

The storyline flowed well.  There was action, tension and release throughout the book...with a smattering of romances along the way.  The ending made me cry, no spoilers as to why, but I was satisfied with it.

My only qualm with the book....I hated how anti climatic the "final battle" was.  I truly expected more.  But...over all a very enjoyable book, and certainly a trilogy.

A must read for anyone who enjoys teen paranormal romance books!

Bloodrose

Bloodrose by Andrea Cremer

I don’t know about the rest of you, but this is one book release I have been looking forward to!

I adored Nightshade, overall enjoyed Wolfsbane and now I’m super excited to read Bloodrose.  It was released yesterday and it’s all I can do to wait for my library to buy it.  Seriously, buy the book already! Haha

Early this morning I checked Amazon and they was already a review and it was a really good one.  Hence my mounting anticipation!

I’m heading to Walmart later, the one place in the world that I can’t seem to leave without dropping $100 no matter how small an item I go in to buy, and I might just have to take a wander through the book section.  But if I do that the urge to buy Bloodrose will be too great.

Sigh.  What a dilemma!

Do any of you have a problem with this or is it just me?

(I told you I’m a book fanatic!)

Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer

For those of you that have just found me or are wanting to get a sense of who I am as a writer and avid reader, there is one thing you need to know.  I LOVE FANTASY!

Give me vampires (in moderation), werewolves, shapshifters, angels, trolls, you name it I'm probably gonna love it.

My newest love affair began a year ago when Andrea Cremer, first time novelest, released Nightshade.  It provided a wealth of rich characters, a love triangle (which I'm a huge fan of) and a unique perspective into the lifes of shapeshifting guardians.  Totally my kind of book.

Well...after I raced through James Dashner's, The Death Cure, I leaped straight into Wolfsbane, Andrea's sequel to Nightshade.

First off...if I have to be honest...I got a tiny bit bored in the beginning.  The duty of explaining the intricate details of the book was a bit to wade through, but smack dab in the middle of the book it took off and I stay up till 2am to finish it.

Loved the action, the pace, the surprisingly appealing new characters and the groan at the end when Andrea left it wide open for the third book.  Don't you just hate it when authors do that?  Haha.

I even found a couple typos.  Darn it but I love it when that happens.  It makes it so much harder for people to bash self published authors when traditional presses make mistakes too!  We're human people.  Get over it!  Haha!
So...if you are looking for a good read, I highly recommend picking up Nightshade and Wolfsbane.
